Real life painting

When I went out west for the first time more than a decade ago, I was blown away by the mountains and how breathtaking they were. I had never seen anything like them before. I had no words to describe it other than they looked like a painting.

Since moving out west, that description still rings true. The scenery, landscape, and mountains are beautifully breathtaking, leaving me speechless nearly every time I see them. I recently went to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone Rim. My pictures look like paintings. There is no other way to describe it. At least for me 🙂

I have also realized that some of the scenery out here can make me feel like I’m in a type of immersive painting experience. The walkway through the Midway Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park allows visitors to walk around a few geysers and pools. The climax of it is the Grand Prismatic Spring. It is a hot a spring with bright brands of yellow, orange, and green around bright blue water. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life.

When I had to chance to go on the walkway, it felt like I was in the middle of the spring’s yellow, orange, green, and blue colors as well its smells, sounds, and steam. With all of that going on around me, I felt like I was part of the Grand Prismatic Spring. (I know if I was literally part of it, I would be probably be boiled to death. But let’s not go there).

I think my next challenge maybe to find some scenery that doesn’t look like a painting, just to make life exciting 🙂
