At 7,000 feet, Nevada is a different world. It’s cooler. There are creeks, snow and trees.
My husband, Eric, and I were reminded of all of that this past weekend when we spent two nights at Great Basin National Park in White Pine County. This park is one of the smaller national parks in the country, but it is truly a hidden gem. At least we think so.
The campsites are large. There are lots of places to hike. Did I mention it was cooler? There is also a glacier. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see that because the scenic drive to the trailhead was closed for winter.
The night sky is also clearer and darker because there are no lights. Completely different world than Las Vegas.
As much as we enjoy our daily lives, it was very nice to escape to what seemed like another world. All we had to do was worry about our campfire, dogs and just being outside in nature. Oh, and we had the opportunity to experience being cold š
